Luda Ruditsky is an important member of the Amagi sales team in North America, nurturing customer relationships and driving business growth with empathy and insight. But Luda is more than just a sales champion. She's a woman of many talents, much like her idol, J Lo. On International Women's Day, we celebrate everything unique and special about Luda through this delightful Q&A -
Tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do at Amagi
My name is Luda Ruditsky. I head the Sales team for the Digital segment at Amagi in North America and am fortunate to work with some of the best media companies/content partners in the industry.
A little bit about me. I was born and raised in Belarus and then lived in Israel before moving to the US with my husband and two daughters. I developed a passion for the video while working for video streaming companies for most of my career. I started as a software engineer and was lucky to have opportunities to work in sales engineering, product management, professional services, customer success, and sales. I quickly learned that I love solving customers' problems and that approaching each conversation with empathy and curiosity brings joy to my busy day.
Outside of work, I like practicing and teaching yoga, playing competitive Table Tennis, and taking Brazilian Zouk dance lessons. I also volunteer to mentor college graduates through their first job searches and coach kids in my local table tennis club.
Do you think it’s important to celebrate International Women’s Day? Could you tell us why?
Throughout history, women and their achievements have often been dismissed, overlooked, or silenced. International Women’s Day offers an important opportunity to reflect on the past, while also reminding us to listen and uplift the voices of women around us and to always continue striving for equality.
What do you think Amagi should do to improve gender equality?
Here are some steps Amagi might take to improve gender equality:
● Establish clear policies and guidelines to promote gender equality
● Encourage diversity in hiring and promotions
● Provide equal pay and benefits
As a woman, have you faced any barriers in your career, and if so, how did you overcome them?
Early in my career, I wanted to take on a challenge and lead a new project/product but my initiative was rejected. When I asked why I was told that I have a baby at home and will need to leave work at a certain time. I presented a plan on “how” and asked for a few months’ trials during the summer where I could hire interns (at no cost to the company). The trial worked and developed into a successful product add-on.
Would you mind sharing the most important piece of advice you’ve been given?
Advice from my college teacher: “Focus on building meaningful connections and relationships”. Research has shown that having strong connections is one of the most important factors for happiness and well-being. By focusing on building and nurturing relationships, we can create a sense of purpose and belonging that might bring greater meaning and fulfillment to our lives.
Tell us, what is the most important message you want to send out to young women thinking about their careers?
Don't let anyone tell you what you can or cannot do, and don't limit yourself based on societal expectations. Pursue your passions and interests, and don't be afraid to take risks and try new things. Remember that success is not defined by traditional notions of career or salary, but by personal fulfillment and a sense of purpose. And most importantly, believe in yourself and your abilities, and never give up on your dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem!
If you could have dinner with three inspirational women, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
1. Jennifer Lopez. J.Lo is my favorite actress. Being a singer, actress, dancer, and producer is a rare combination of talents. She has achieved significant success in all of these areas due to her hard work and made a major impact on many women around the world.
2. Adriene Mishler. I started my yoga journey because of the “Yoga with Adriene” YouTube series. “Yoga with Adriene” changed my life and I am grateful to Adriene for this. I love her inclusive approach to yoga, and her ability to build a strong and supportive community. With over 20M subscribers to her YouTube channel, I think she needs a FAST channel. We could discuss it over dinner :-)
3. Angela Duckworth. I am impressed by her personal story. Her research/book on grit and her popular TED Talk is a true inspiration and motivates so many people to achieve their goals every day.
